Working Principle Description:

Compressed air feed: The nitrogen generation equipment compresses the external air through a compressed air system and introduces the compressed air into the PSA nitrogen generation equipment.

 

Adsorption bed layers: Inside the PSA nitrogen generation equipment, there are two main adsorption bed layers typically filled with special adsorbents such as molecular sieves. These adsorbents selectively adsorb oxygen molecules from the air while allowing nitrogen to pass through.

 

Adsorption process: As the compressed air passes through the first adsorption bed layer, oxygen molecules are adsorbed onto the adsorbent, resulting in a nitrogen-enriched gas stream.

 

Desorption process: When the first adsorption bed layer becomes saturated, the nitrogen generation equipment switches to the desorption process by changing the pressure. This causes the adsorbent to release the adsorbed oxygen molecules, which are then purged from the equipment.

 

Regeneration process: To restore the adsorption capacity of the bed layer, the nitrogen generation equipment introduces a portion of pure nitrogen into the first adsorption bed layer to remove any remaining oxygen and other impurities.

 

Cycling operation: The adsorption and desorption processes in the PSA nitrogen generation equipment alternate between the two adsorption bed layers. While one bed layer adsorbs oxygen, the other bed layer undergoes desorption and regeneration to achieve continuous nitrogen generation.
