Working Principle Description:
Hydrogenation Reaction: The feed gas, typically air, enters the hydrogenation reactor. Hydrogen gas (H₂) is introduced into the reactor, where it reacts with oxygen (O₂) to form water (H₂O). This reaction is often catalyzed using a catalyst such as copper catalyst to facilitate the reaction between hydrogen and oxygen.
Moisture Removal: The generated water vapor needs to be removed from the gas to produce dry nitrogen. This is typically achieved using an adsorbent such as molecular sieves, which adsorb and remove the moisture from the gas. As the gas passes through the adsorbent bed, moisture is adsorbed and retained while the dry nitrogen continues to flow out of the bed.
Removal of Other Impurities: In addition to moisture, hydrogenation deoxygenation nitrogen purification can also remove other impurities such as carbon dioxide (CO₂), hydrocarbons, and other gases. This is usually accomplished through the selective adsorption capabilities of the adsorbent. Different adsorbents have higher affinity for specific impurities, allowing them to be removed from the purified nitrogen gas.
Collection of Purified Nitrogen: After the hydrogenation deoxygenation treatment, the purified nitrogen is collected and extracted from the purification system.
