Working Principle Description:
Hydrogenation: In hydrogenation, hydrogen gas is introduced into the reaction system along with the organic compounds containing oxygen and nitrogen impurities. Common hydrogenation catalysts such as palladium (Pd), platinum (Pt), and nickel (Ni) are used. Hydrogen reacts chemically with the oxygen and nitrogen atoms, reducing them. This results in the formation of water and ammonia or other gaseous nitrogen compounds, effectively removing oxygen and nitrogen impurities from the organic compounds.
Deoxygenation: The process of deoxygenation occurs as a result of hydrogenation. The hydrogen gas, with its strong reductive properties, interacts with the oxygen atoms in the organic compounds and reduces them to water. This step significantly improves the purity of the organic compounds by removing oxygen impurities.
Nitrogen purification: During the hydrogenation and deoxygenation process, nitrogen atoms in the organic compounds are also reduced. Through careful selection of catalysts and reaction conditions, nitrogen impurities can be effectively removed. This purification step ensures the removal of nitrogen compounds, enhancing the overall purity of the organic compounds.
